ISA in Paris
France
Term: Academic Year, Fall, Summer, Winter
Description:
ISA programs in Paris, France, are all-inclusive (with the exception of airfare). A variety of programs are offered with the opportunity to earn college credit. Students of all levels of French proficiency are eligible. Program participants will study at the Catholic University of Paris or The Sorbonne, which are accredited universities and issue all transcripts. Programs include "French Language, Culture, and Civilization" and "Intensive French Language". Paris, with its rich history and diverse population, provides the perfect backdrop for students to enrich their understanding of the French language and culture. The Seine River divides the city into two banks, each with its own character. The Rive Droite (Right Bank), with its spacious boulevards and formal buildings, has a more sombre and genteel feeling than the carefree and bohemian Rive Gauche (Left Bank). The intellectual atmosphere of the left bank has attracted creative thinkers to the Quartier Latin for over 700 years, making it a center for cultural and academic activity. Throughout many centuries, the city has yielded an array of renowned sites. From the impressive Musee du Louvre, to the richly sculpted Cathedrale de Notre-Dame, to the tree-lined Avenue des Champs Elyseus and Napoleon's Arc de Triomphe de l'Etoile, visitors to Paris will never have a dull moment. One cannot forget to see most recognized landmark, the Eiffel Tower, built for the World's Fair of 1889. Students in Paris will be surrounded by beautiful parks and gardens, cuisine from all corners of the world, the latest fashions, bustling cafes, and nightclubs. This 'City of Lights' eloquently combines the old with the new, providing the ultimate setting for a study abroad experience!
