Description:
ISA programs in San Jose, Costa Rica, are all-inclusive (with the exception of airfare). Various programs are offered with the opportunity to gain college credit. Program participants will study at the Universidad de Costa Rica, Universidad Veritas or at the Universidad Latinoamericana de Ciencia y Tecnologia (ULACIT). These universities are accredited and issue all transcripts. Students at all levels of Spanish proficiency are eligible to study with ISA in San Jose. Programs include Spanish Language and Electives, Spanish Language and Electives in English, Spanish Language and Culture, and Classes with Costa Rican Students. San Jose, a bustling city nestled in the hillsides of Costa Rica's central valley, is ideal for students. The city offers cafes, museums, restaurants and cinemas. San Jose is also the country's main transportation hub which gives students the ability to enjoy everything that Costa Rica has to offer such as untouched rainforests and beaches, mountains and volcanoes, 885 species of birds, 221 species of mammals and 12,000 species of plants. Costa Rica's warm people and rich culture combined with its environmental wonders will make your visit to Costa Rica a fulfilling one.
Highlights:
* Tuition: Includes all tuition at the host university. All classes are taught by faculty from the host university. * Academic Credits: Please refer to the ISA website for detailed credit information. * Resident Directors: ISA Resident Directors are available 24 hours a day to assist students with all aspects of their study abroad experience. * Tutoring: Students have the opportunity to receive up to 2 hours of language tutoring each weekday. * Excursions: Please see the ISA website for a complete list of excursions. Ground transportation and entrance fees are included on all excursions. Hotel accommodations and breakfast are included on all overnight excursions. * Room and Board: The family homestays include three meals a day (excluding ISA excursion days) for the duration of the program. The homestays also include laundry service once a week. Students not wishing to live with a host family are welcome to set up their own housing arrangements. * 2 On-site ISA offices: The ISA offices, conveniently located near the universities, offer student computers with internet access, language resources, travel information, and more. * Airport Reception: Provided to and from the airport for students who arrive and/or depart during the specified times. * Medical Insurance: Medical insurance is provided for the official period of the program. Medical insurance extensions are available for an additional cost. * Cultural Activities: ISA Resident Directors will arrange cultural activities throughout the program.
