The Institute Our French language Institute in the South of France is situated in the heart of beautiful, historic Montpellier, minutes from the railway/bus station/tramway, the world-famous Place de la Comedie, the Tour de la Babote and within only 20 minutes of the airport and wonderful Mediterranean beaches. Eurolingua is a member of La Maison de la France, l'Office du Tourisme de Montpellier and La Chambre de Commerce de Montpellier. We are located on the ground floor of an impressive, traditional French building, with a reception area, five spacious classrooms, toilets, offices, kitchen, small library and a spacious central meeting/entertainments area with an opening glass roof. We are a small, friendly school where you are guaranteed a warm welcome and caring personalised attention during your stay. Programmes Study abroad French in France immersion programmes start every Monday all year round for students and clients of any age (16-75 years), from beginners to advanced. Students join a small group (5 to 8) most appropriate to their French language level, based on a linguistic assessment upon arrival at the Eurolingua Institute in Montpellier. Work in France: Montpellier, Toulon and Nice, as well as on Mediterranean holiday camping sites paid French Hotel Work Experience Programmes Teachers All instructors are experienced, fully-qualified teachers and native language speakers, specialising in teaching French for Foreigners (FLE - francais langue etrangere). Methodology The modern, direct, communicative method. You will learn and improve your French naturally using authentic materials. The main emphasis in all classes is on improving speaking and listening skills. You will have ample time for private practice in real life situations in the local community. Activities Social, cultural and touristic activities are organised by the school. Many and varied activities to suit all tastes and age groups are available in the magnificent Languedoc-Roussillon region of the South of France ("Le Midi"). Accommodation We arrange homestay accommodation for you with one of our local, selected French hosts, situated within easy access of the school, either a pleasant and safe walk, or a bus ride or on the new tramway. Montpellier is quite a small town (200,000 population) and the centre is pedestrianised. Accommodation is usually half-board (private room, breakfast and evening dinner). Accommodation can also be arranged for you at preferential rates in a private studio apartment or at any one of numerous attractive hotels. Visas EU citizens do not require a visa for France. Some non-EU citizens do not require a visa for upto 90 days (see country list). For citizens of other countries, check here to determine if you require a visa. How to get to Montpellier As the regional capital, Montpellier is easy to reach by plane, train or road. - by plane arriving at Montpellier Airport with flights from Paris Roissy/Charles de Gaulles, Paris Orly, London Gatwick, London Stanstead, Frankfurt Hahn, Casablanca. - many Ryanair flights to both Montpellier and Nimes (25 minutes) - by train arriving at Montpellier station from Paris - high-speed TGV, Nice, Avignon, Marseille, Barcelona, London. Airport Pickup If you arrive in Montpellier by plane or train, we arrange for your host family to meet you.
Highlights:
Total Beginners: students with no prior knowledge of French follow a programme of individual tuition until ready to join an elementary group. Individual French lessons are available at any time. Standard Group Programme: consists of 15 hours French tuition per week (09h00 to 12h00 Monday to Friday) in small friendly groups (5 to 8 students per level). Elementary to advanced levels. French Summer School Programme: every year from early June to late September to benefit from the long Mediterranean summer. Improve your French and have a great time. Combined Programme: the morning group French course may be combined with individual French lessons in the afternoon, for greater intensity or to focus on special learning needs. Short, Intensive French Courses: available year round for total beginners to advanced level students. Intensive, one-to-one, customised tuition spread over several days or several weeks. Study and learn at your own pace and to meet your own objectives - business, pleasure, exams, travel etc. All facilities and activities at the school are included. Multi-Lingual Programme: you may study a combination of foreign languages, the most popular combinations are: English and French but also French/Spanish, English/Spanish. We offer individual and customised tuition to meet your own specific requirements whether for travel, examinations, executive crash courses, business survival in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, etc. Programmes start every Monday all year for 1 or more weeks. School Groups, Clubs, Associations: educational programmes for students arriving together in the same school or college group. Also suitable for clubs, language circles and other similar associations. Consists of language course, accommodation, cultural, leisure and sporting activities etc. Work Experience (paid): we offer our French Hotel Programme with paid work experience at our partner hotels in and around Montpellier, Nice and Toulon and on Mediterranean holiday camping sites. FREE staff accommodation and meals are provided as well as individual and/or group French language tuition and participation in various social and cultural activities. Looks great on your CV/resume. French for Hotel & Tourism Work: a 12-week course at the Eurolingua Institute in Montpellier, South of France, for students who intend to study and/or work in the Hotel and Tourism Industry in France or other French-speaking country (Belgium, Switzerland, North & West Africa, Caribbean etc). It is especially aimed at students planning to start a course of study leading to a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Hotel and Tourism Management or students who have just completed such programmes and are now looking to acquire corresponding French langauge skills and possible work placement. Conversation Classes: in addition to your study abroad French language courses, you may participate freely in our special conversational classes. "Twinning Programme": our unique and free service puts you together 'one-to-one' with local French native speakers who want to share their language and culture with you and hear about yours!! Examinations and Certificates: preparation for the internationally recognised DELF and DALF examinations.
