Description: Ave Nicaraguita Spanish Language School provides options for language training and opportunities to volunteers.

To assist students in quickly and efficiently establishing a firm foundation Spanish, Ave Nicaraguita immersion programs help students to communicate effectively and introduce them to Nicaraguan social and cultural life. Students´ investment for week-structured immersion programs begin from US$5.99 per hour of instruction.

The school has two language centers in Granada and in Masatepe-Masaya. Through partnership with local schools, Ave Nicaraguita operates immersion Spanish programs in Leon, in Esteli, Matagalpa, Ometepe and in San Juan del Sur.

For its students, Ave Nicaraguita offers a variety of extra services, such as, " Accommodation with Family, Hostel or Hotel; " Visits to Communities and Projects; " Volunteering Opportunities with or without Accreditation; " Tourist Information and Transportation; " Spanish Practice in Various Contexts; " Private Spanish Lessons; " Survival Spanish and other Ad-hoc Courses; " Intensive Immersion & Regular Courses with Accreditation of Hours.

Highlights: While studying Spanish with Ave Nicaraguita, students will have a great opportunity to visit the historic city of Granada, Nicaragua. This city is located on the edge of a huge lake with numerous islands, boasts an impressive volcano, and is one of the most important destinations in the whole Central American region. Granada used to be the site where Native Nicaraguans, belonging to the tribe Xalteva, lived until the arrival of Spaniards.

On this site, in 1524, Spaniards founded Granada. Today, Xalteva is one of Granada's largest neighborhoods. Lake Cocibolca or Lake Nicaragua is the bigger of the two Great Lakes in the country, and the largest of the region.

From one of Granada's small ports, Asese, one can take a boat to visit some of the more than 300-island archipelago located just two miles south of the city. Mombacho Volcano, easily accessible from Granada, is a great site for hiking, exploration and sightseeing.
