Highlights:
Our Italian language school is located in Ortiga, the historic island centre of Syracuse. On an Italian course in Syracuse, you'll never be far from the sea - our school is just 2 minutes' walk from the sea, and many of the city's narrow streets lead straight down to picturesque, quiet bathing spots. One of the things our students tell us they like about the city is the relaxed pace of life, and the friendliness of the locals. You can practise your Italian at Syracuse's traditional daily market in Via Emmanuele de Benedictus - where many of our students buy picnic lunches to take to the beach after class. The pedestrianised city centre (a UNESCO world heritage site) comes alive at night, with locals gathering in the Piazza del Duomo, just a short walk from our school. Syracuse is one of the cultural capitals of Italy, and you'll find plenty to do and see during your Italian course in Syracuse. Don't miss the summer season of classical theatre at Syracuse's famous outdoor Greek Theatre. You can also take part in one of the city's many summer festivals, including the Jazz Festival in July, and the Medieval Festival in August, when the city explodes with the colour of traditional costumes and fresh Sicilian produce. Star points: * Centrally located school just 2 minutes' walk from the sea * Accommodation in historic Syracuse, within walking distance of our school * Explore Sicily with our school's optional activities program * Wide range of specialist courses including Italian & Cooking / Italian & Painting * Excellent range of optional activities and excursions
