Chinese Study and Cultural Immersion in Tai Pei
Taiwan
Term: Throughout the year
Dates: Start dates every Monday, all year round.
Description:
Our school is one of the oldest and best-known language training schools in Taiwan, teaching Taiwanese or Mandarin Chinese. Since it was established in 1956, the school has grown steadily and now has 2 campuses in Taiwan. The Institute has gained a reputation for academic excellence, highly skilled teachers, and a friendly atmosphere. The school has developed customized language training programs for U.S. Government agencies and international corporations in over 35 countries, and has established departments of Chinese studies in more than 20 academic institutions worldwide. The school is split into 2 school centers across Taipai. School Center one occupies the third and fourth floors in a modern commercial building near two of Taiwan's most prestigious universities: the National Taiwan University and the National Taiwan Normal University. It has an abundance of facilities including restaurants, shops, night markets and bars in the surrounding area catering exclusively to students. School center two (the Shih Lin Center) is located to the North of Taipei, in a two-story building complete with tutorial and group classrooms and a student lounge. This is the smallest center in Taipei making it a very quiet and friendly place to study. There are also many restaurants, shops, teahouses, and a large night market in the area.
Highlights:
Taipei, the capital, is a very modern western-style city with glass-faced high-rise office buildings, luxury condos, and modern department stores, which tower above wide, tree lined boulevards. Great nightlife can be found, with theatres, bars and clubs, but Taipei is still Chinese at heart, with an underlying current of traditional lifestyles and culture that make it fascinating for international travelers. Throughout the city are timeless scenes from the world's oldest civilization: Taipei is truly a city of many faces, where ancient and modern co-exist.
