French Study and Cultural Immersion in Montreux
Switzerland
Montreux (A Vevey-Montreux)
Term: Throughout the year
Dates: Start dates every Monday, all year round.
Description:
The school is housed in a modern and attractive building - right in the centre of Montreux, next to Lac Léman (Lake Geneva). Situated on the most lively and bustling street in the town and you can reach the school in 5 minutes on foot, from both the bus or train station. The Montreux International Jazz Festival, the Christmas Market, several cinemas, shopping centres, bars, restaurants, as well as several sport clubs and the famous Casino, are all no more than 10 minutes walk from the front door. Students enjoy the bright and comfortable classrooms, the shady terrace, the balcony view over the lake and the modern equipment and materials that we use. After class, people are found congregating in pleasant surroundings in the school cafeteria, checking emails or surfing the Net (free of charge) on one of several computers reserved for students' use.
Highlights:
Montreux is situated next to Lake Geneva (Lac Leman) in the French speaking part of Switzerland and is known as the "Pearl of the Swiss Riviera". Montreux is completely surrounded by the majestic Swiss Alps. The peaks of Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn and a dozen more mountains, soar skyward over 4000 meters. To the west and east of Montreux, vineyards dot the lakeside terraces and reflect a gentle "joie de vivre" blessed by Bacchus, the god of wine. Montreux is a charming cosmopolitan city and home to many famous people who have made this city their home. It has a stunning 6-mile promenade on long the lake, riddled with hidden beaches and harbors. It plays host to many international events and festivals including classical music and the world famous jazz festival in July.
