Description: Punjabi Language - Punjabi also termed as Panjabi or Gurumukhi is the mother tongue of the Punjabi people and the Punjab regions of India and Pakistan. Punjabi is the official language of the Indian state of Punjab and Chandigarh and second official languages of Delhi and Haryana. As an official language, it is used in government, education, commerce, art, mass media, and in everyday communication. It is also commonly spoken in neighboring states such as Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Not only in India and Pakistan, Punjabi is also a popular in other countries such as United Kingdom, United States, Australia, and most notably in Canada where, it has ranked among the top five most commonly spoken languages, according to the 2001 Canadian census. Punjabi is also spoken in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Fiji, Kenya, Malaysia, Mauritius, Singapore, and United Arab Emirates. Thus, a total of 104 million people speak the language, making Punjabi the tenth most widely spoken language in the world.

Punjabi is an Indo-European language belonging to the Indic branch of the Indo-Iranian subfamily. In modern days it has categorizes into two branches Eastern Punjabi and Western Punjabi. The term Eastern Punjabi is used for the Punjabi, which is the state Language of India's Punjab state, 30 to 45 million people speak it as their primary language. Western Punjabi is spoken in Pakistan and about 27 million people use this branch of Punjabi as their first language.

There are many dialects of Punjabi, like; Majhi, Doabi, Malwai and Powadhi in India, and Pothohari, Lahndi and Multani in Pakistan, but the Majhi is the standard written form of Punjabi and is the dialect used in both India and Pakistan. The pitch of the Punjabi language is tonal, unlike other Indo-European languages, and the writing script is Gurumukhi. The vocabulary of Punjabi has been influenced by other many languages, including Urdu, Hindi, Persian, Arabic, Sanskrit and English.

Punjabi is the preferred language of the Sikh community because much of their religious literature is written in the language. It is the usual language of Bhangra, a fusion of traditional singing and dancing which has recently gained wide popularity both in South Asia and abroad and has played a major role in popularizing Punjabi worldwide.

Highlights: We, at Indo Vacations have designed a special course in Punjabi Language Course that helps you to learn this wonderful language. While designing this course we have taken greatest care of the fact, that this course is intended for people or students who do not belong to the Punjabi speaking regions. This course has planned in association with experienced instructors, who have expertise in teaching foreign students whose native language is not Punjabi. This course has planned with enough flexibility in terms of duration that mainly depends on the interest of student and the availability of trainer. This course is an individual course, means you will get lessons by a personal trainer. You are free to ask questions, take your time at the exercises and practice the sentences as long as you and your teachers are satisfied with the pronunciation. Normally these classes run five days in a week with daily sessions of 5 hours.The daily classes are divided in two sessions pre lunch and post lunch session.

However, the timing can be rearranged by your trainer with your consent. Our language program is an inclusive program that includes your accommodation also. We normally arrange your accommodation within 10 minute reaching time to your teacher. This will facilitate better coordination between you and your trainer and safe your time and money as well. For accommodation, we provide you the different options; stay with an Indian family or choose a guesthouse or pain guest accommodation. We generally suggest you to stay with local family so that you get better environment for learning the language. You will learn a lot by listening and speaking to your host family. You will also get a chance to experience the rich Punjabi culture and way of living of Punjabi's. During your stay, you will be provided a personal room with bath and WC, round the clock cold & warm water, meals including breakfast, Lunch and dinner as well as Tea & coffee, facilities for laundry, internet etc.

We would arrange your transfer from nearby international Airport, if wished so, on nominal charges. We could also plan tours to nearby places or any other destination in India and assist you for every other travel tour services needed by you.
