Description: RealTalk is a unique English Language Conversation School located in Byron Bay, Australia. Our school is dedicated to teaching real-life, everyday spoken English to ESL students. With a curriculum that is 100% conversational based; we are one of few schools,if not the only in Australia, to offer a program that is focused purely and exclusively on speaking and listening skills. We teach the more practical everyday spoken English used by native speakers, rather than the "textbook English" taught in most English schools.

We help students to apply their knowledge of the English language in real-life, everyday situations. We do this by teaching the more practical everyday spoken English used by native speakers, rather than the "textbook English" taught in most English schools. Although we believe grammar, reading and writing to be important in the study of English we realise that many students study this for many years and still cannot speak or understand English. This is why we have chosen to specialise in one area; real-life, everday conversation English.

Beautiful Byron Bay

Our school is located in the beautiful coastal town of Byron Bay, Australia - just 45 minutes south of the Gold Coast. Byron Bay is well-known for it's relaxed & alternative lifestyle, spectacular beaches (for surfers and swimmers) and beautiful scenery. It is a fantastic place to visit or live. The town is small & friendly but with such a strong tourism industry; has all the facilities you could need. With only a few major roads (and no traffic lights) everything is very easy to access....beaches, cafes, restaurants, pubs, nightclubs, cinemas, markets, banks, post office, accommodation and school all in one small convenient area. If you are looking for entertainment, there is always something to see or do in Byron Bay and with the Gold Coast so close you'll never be bored! But if you just want to relax, there are plenty of beautiful places in the town centre or off in the hinterland to "enjoy doing nothing".

Fun & Friendly Atmosphere

We believe that leaning English should be fun and that students learn more effectively by being involved, by DOING. Since our English courses are based on speaking & listening skills, students have more time to interact with each other and their teacher - rather reading or writing about English grammar. This makes studying English conversation much more fun...and practical too! We love what we do here at RealTalk and try to ensure you enjoy yourself too. That's why we include afternoon activities and excursions in our program - there is alot to see and learn outside the classroom and it makes our courses heaps of fun!

Quality Accommodation & Homestay Families

Byron Bay has become a very popular tourist destination for people all over the world. With accommodation ranging from budget camping & hostels to luxury resorts and exclusive beachside apartments, there is something suitable for everyone. For this reason Byron Bay attracts all kinds of travellers - backpackers, students, families, business executives and retired couples. Since our staff are so dedicated to immersing students into Australian life we are very serious about choosing the right host families. Each student has different preferences & needs and so we enlist a range of alternatives for our homestay program. Students can choose from families (with or without children), young couples, share houses and retired couples. All of our hosts are chosen through a careful interviewing process to ensure they are the right people to support our students in having a safe, fun and memorable stay in Byron Bay. We also make sure that all students have contact with their hosts (via email, phone or skype) before leaving for Australia to allow both the hosts and students to get to know each other a little and make the process more comfortable for both parties.

At RealTalk we pride ourselves on the service and support we offer our students. We aim to provide a more personal approach; a complete lifestyle experience for our students. We want to be involved and therefore offer our full support in integrating into the local community. Our dedicated & understanding staff will be more than happy to assist students with things outside school hours such as homestay issues that may arise, getting to know the local area (sightseeing & orientation) and finding activities for student to do in their free time.
