Business English with Internship program; Accent Reduction and Pronunciation program
Canada
Term: Throughout the year
Dates: Every month
Description:
The Royal Canadian Institute of International Studies Canadian experience is geared towards providing international students with the training to help students to communicate accurately and effectively in an English-speaking business environment. We pledge to teach students the relevant job and language skills while laying a solid foundation for an appreciation of the English language and business culture. When students attend our institute, they also benefit from our real-world background and contacts in the field of their choice. Through our Business Communication program, students will practice and improve their Business English and learn practical North American business methods inside the classroom combined with hands on work experience in a Canadian Business. The internship opportunities with structured organizations in a professional environment will enable students to meet Canadian business professionals and apply their English and business skills to practical use, after which the experience can be added to their resumes. The Business Communication program plus internship opportunity with Canadian and Global companies will help students to focus on their career aspirations and decide their future. S.T.A.R Accent Reduction program! Natural intonation patterns and rhythm can be even more important to successful communication in English than perfectly accurate grammar. Through the combination of highly structured exercise and practical experience of self-expression in English, participants in this course will start to form life-long habits that will allow them to speak much more naturally and clearly. Students will also learn idiomatic expressions in an authentic context, become more self-confident, and have a lot of fun in the process! The most efficient and pleasant way to an international career in so many fields awaits your students at Royal Canadian Institute of International Studies.
Highlights:
Business English program: It is important that students practice utilizing their English skills for business. Therefore, a variety of methods are used in class, including question and answer, projects, case studies and role-plays. Each exercise allows participants to develop their English skills while dealing with the business topics being presented. These activities are combined with speaking, reading and comprehension exercises. Accent Reduction Through Stage Technique program: Many schools offer conversation practice, and spend some time on common pronunciation problems, but the STAR program is unique in Toronto because of its focus on intonation and rhythm, which are actually more important to clear and understandable English speech. In addition, STAR includes a structured program of vocal muscle training, which teaches students to gradually learn a new speech style. This training, over time, can make it possible for students to speak English perfectly, without a strong accent. Also, although many schools use role-play in conversation practice, the STAR program uses a variety of speaking, performing, improvising and drama activities including dramatic texts by the best Canadian and American playwrights. These activities allow students to explore all the aspects of English speech in complex, real-life situations. Benefits of doing an internship: * Canadian work experience * A letter of recommendation or evaluation from employer which can be used for future employment * The opportunity to use English in an English-speaking working environment * The application of acquired knowledge and skills to a Canadian or international company * Highly qualified candidates and performers may possibly received full-time employment offers by the company.
Qualifications:
Students can have mixed backgrounds in education and training, but must have at least an intermediate level of English to be eligible for the program. Students interested in internship should be mature, motivated self-starters who are independent and flexible.
