La Cantoria - Restoration School, in cooperation with a school specialized in Italian language courses, offers summer programmes as a combination of language course and one of the following Artistic Workshops: * Ceramic restoration * Wood carving * Wood gilding * Furniture restoration * Painting restoration * Artistic drawing * Fresco * Mosaic * Oil Painting * Watercolour technique * Modelling techniques for sculptures * Porcelain decoration ("terzo fuoco" technique) Art workshops are propaedeutic to techniques and lessons are mainly practical: a good occasion to verify one's interest in a specific artistic techniques as well as an opportunity to learn them at an amateurishly level. Teachers are highly qualified professionals in their field of art, selected by La Cantoria in almost twenty years of activity, and they also have many valuable years of experience in the teaching art techniques. Courses have a variable duration: Long program: (4 weeks/44 hrs) The first two weeks participants will attend a general Italian language course (10hrs/week). The following two weeks class participants will attend one of above listed Artistic Workshops. Short semi-intensive program: (2 weeks/44 hrs) Participants will attend 4 hours of Artistic Workshop 3 times per week dedicated to practical experience in the chosen artistic programme and 2 hours of general Italian language course every day, from Monday through Friday. * Participants can choose among above listed Artistic Workshops options. Short intensive program: (2 weeks/60 hrs) Participants will attend 4 hours introductory restoration course or drawing course every morning, from Monday through Friday, plus two hours of general Italian language course every afternoon, for a total 6 hours per day, from Monday through Friday. * Participants will choose one introductory restoration course among the following options: Painting restoration, Wood restoration, Ceramic restoration.
Highlights:
Our summer courses are led by professionals and enthusiastic teachers who gives time to both group work and individual tuition. Classes are adapted to the needs of the group or individual requests. The approach is relaxed and informal and participants will be able to develop their skills and techniques already in a 2 weeks programme. Beside to be a good occasion to verify one's interests in restoration, the part-time schedule of lesson leaves plenty of time to discover Florence and its culture and its surroundings as well. The school is located at the basis of Chianti hills, so it will be possible to arrange visits to vineyards, wine sellers and nice dinners in the countryside.

Cost Include Description:
Long programme: Total course fee 800 Euros. Fee includes laboratory teaching materials (with exception for personal material), Italian language course material and Attendance certificates. It is possible to change the general Italian Language course (10hrs/week) with an intensive course (20hrs/week) paying an extra-fee of 120 Euros. Accommodation not included.Short semi-intensive program: (2 weeks/44 hrs): Total course fee 925 Euros. Fee includes accommodation, laboratory teaching materials (with exception for personal material), Italian language course material and Attendance certificates.
